"We are explorers. A Modern day Lewis and Clark. We do not seek adventure for the heart pounding adrenaline rush, but the richness of experience…and so we explore; people, places, experiences, capturing the emotion of it all throughout the journey. After all, it is the journey, not the destination that we want remembered." - James + Schulze
James Christianson and Otto Schulze have spent the past 20 years chasing experiences. From photographing weddings on the Great Wall of China to quiet nuptials on top of a mountain peak, weddings for celebrities such as the Ralph Lauren family in New York, to intimate gatherings in the Bahamas. Each a unique experience, primed for exploration.
That deep love of exploration has brought James and Schulze together in a rare opportunity for two award-winning lead photographers to make photographs side-by-side. Together James and Schulze blend styles of documentary fine art and editorial work to create unparalleled imagery, both digitally and on film. This special blend of two seasoned veteran photographers allows for a richness in imagery, in experience, and in exploration that is truly one-of-a-kind. Through both vintage and modern mediums, the pair approach each event with new perspective. The depth of their knowledge can be witnessed in their images and the quality of experience, felt from the moment they first engage on your unique journey with you.
Raised in the north woods of Washington State with extensive travel under his belt at a young age, James has been an explorer from the start. His upbringing and time living abroad eventually lead him to live in Micronesia to partake in teaching and personal missionary work. It’s these human experiences that have had the greatest influence on his images. Curiosity and a love for meeting people are what drive James to create soulful portraits and photos infused with personality. James currently lives in Colorado with the love of his life and their three boys but can most often be found in an Airstream trailer, exploring this great country when above sea level, and scuba diving when below it.
Born and raised in South Africa Otto has traveled the globe in pursuit of the "decisive moment". His caring eye is one with a worldly view. His background working as a documentary photographer is what most influences his photographs. Drawn to dramatic light, Otto creates images that need to be framed and hung. His award winning photographs have been published and exhibited around the globe and he holds the prestigious title of Sony Artisan of Imagery, representing the camera and technology brand in the wedding industry. He lives with his wife and three girls in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies and travels the globe in search of new experiences to share.
Erik considers himself a storyteller, more than a photographer. His focused fascination with the marriage journey itself (due to the enjoyment of his own marriage) has a significant impact on the moments and images he is drawn to. He has built an award winning career on his ability to find moments in time combined with a penchant for dramatic composition. He is crazy about his wife Destiny and three kids, Avery, River and Roman. He currently resides in Dallas, Texas.

Although a musician by trade, Jennifer’s innate curiosity about people and desire to create art in collaboration, led her to pursue a career in photography. Her work is driven by her love for human connection, juxtapositions, and finding beauty in the simple. Her greatest passion is capturing the truth and essence of her subjects. She can most often be found getting lost in a city, or immersed in nature; she finds the most inspiration, rest, and beauty moving between the two.
